Yielding to Discouragement

“When we yield to discouragement it is usually because we give too much thought to the past and to the future.”

1. Are you discouraged?

2. How has God powerfully stepped in and blessed you?

  1. I think I’m going to try Rock Harbor Church. I’ve been there before and they have a good reputation for being God-based and, not people based.

  2. Lawrence,
I like what my college buddy told me, “God says three things. Yes, Not right now, or I have something better for you.” He definitely has something amazing in store for you!

In terms of the study groups, your best bet is to check with all there local churches and see which one God places you in. Keep us posted on this.

  3. Well, it seems like every single thought I have that’s negative, He shuts my doubts down. Whether it’s through support from my family in Christ like you all or, through allowing things to just happen in front of me.

For example, to add onto what I put yesterday, I ran into an childhood friend who has his own training business and wants to offer me work. Whenever I have these ridiculous doubts I actually do pray to God. I ask Him to please show me how stupid I’m being. His reply usually starts with a thought that even if He approves my request, it’s just not time.

I think I need more time to fellowship with Him (alone & in a group). If you know of any local study groups, please let me know. It’s been awhile for me.

  4. Lawrence,
How has God shown you the error in your thinking? What do you do when the enemy begins to whisper lies to you?

  5. There are quite a few things I feel discouragment about. However, everytime I time I get these thoughts/feelings, God always shows me the error in my thinking. I never thought I’d go back to school, He opened a way. I thought I’d have to start writing all over again, if ever; I recieved an email saying my lyrics were found.

I’ve been feeling like I can’t find a decent job but, like always, I know He’ll come through for me. We just have to always keep the faith and listen for Him.
